New production of ‘Ariadne auf Naxos’ at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence

This upcoming July, Eric Cutler will debut in the role of Bacchus for the 70th anniversary season of the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, in a new production of Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos. This new production, directed by Katie Mitchell, runs July 4-16, and features Lise Davidsen as Ariadne, Sabine Devieilhe as Zerbinetta, and Angela Brower as Der Komponist. Marc Albrecht will lead he Orchestre de Paris in this delightful opera that combines the world of opera with the iconic characters of commedia dell’arte.
